We’re excited to spotlight Task 2.2 of the FLEXSHIP Project, led by the Department of Marine Technology (IMT) at NTNU.
This task focuses on designing a cutting-edge control and monitoring architecture for hybrid and electric propulsion systems.
Key deliverables include:
- FLEXSHIP’s control and monitoring framework
- Propulsion and thrust control systems
- Power Management Systems
- Load sharing strategies
- Communication and monitoring functions
Using modelling competences at NTNU, we are developing and fine-tuning simulation models with varying levels of fidelity.
This work is critical in ensuring secure, stable and efficient control of future zero-emission vessels.
Together, we’re breaking new ground in maritime technology and paving the way for sustainable short sea shipping solutions!
FLEXSHIP is funded by the EU Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement no. 101095863.
