From July 3rd to July 5th, the FLEXSHIP project partners gathered in Trondheim, Norway, for a crucial General Assembly meeting, marking month 19 of the project. This meeting, held at the NTNU Marine Technology facilities, focused on evaluating technical successes, project organization, and action plans, while adhering to the requirements of our Consortium Agreement.
GA Meeting Highlights:
– Welcome Lunch: The event commenced with a welcome lunch at the NTNU Marine Technology restaurant, setting a positive tone for the days ahead.
– GA Opening and Introduction: NTNU kicked off the meeting with an introduction, outlining the primary goals and agenda.
– Workpackage Presentations: Each partner presented updates and highlighted concerns for their respective workpackages, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the project’s current status.
– Workshops: The meeting included several significant workshops. The first focused on reducing assumptions in the Certification Working Group, the second dealt with validating the initial FLEXSHIP System block and interfaces diagram, and the final one explored the roadmap to achieving the European Waterborne Transport – Synergies Ecosystem (EUWT-SE) goals.
– DEMO Discussions: Discussions began for DEMO-1 and DEMO-2, initiating cross-functional actions related to the Gunnerus and Atatürk vessels.
– Onboard Visit to Gunnerus: A two-hour session was dedicated to visiting the Gunnerus, where partners met the crew and gained insights into the vessel’s operations.
– Return to NTNU SEALAB: After the visit, partners returned to NTNU SEALAB facilities for further workshops and technical discussions.
– Technical Discussions: Comprehensive executive status updates on all workpackages ensured that all technical aspects were thoroughly covered.
The three-day meeting was marked by fruitful discussions, collaboration, and strategic planning. Each session provided valuable insights and facilitated in-depth discussions on key technical and organizational aspects of the project. The collaborative efforts and proactive approach of all partners significantly boosted the project’s momentum, paving the way for future successes.
