Introducing our Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft FhG partners

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft FhG, based in Germany, is the world’s leading applied research organization. As one of the 76 institutes within the FhG, the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Systems and Device Technology IISB conducts applied research and development in the field of electronic systems for application in, e.g., electric mobility, aerospace, Industry 4.0, power grids or energy technology.

Reducing environmentally damaging emissions is one of the most important tasks of the present time. This is why Fraunhofer is fully committed to large-scale decarbonization. Electrification of mobility is one of the promising measures to reach that goal.

FLEXSHIP is a great opportunity for the IISB to apply and expand its expertise in battery management systems, energy management and power electronics. For the development of sustainable and efficient approaches for the operation of low-emission ships, the knowledge of IISB is bundled and contributed to the FLEXSHIP project. Ultimately, this will be a major step towards greener shipping.

FLEXSHIP received funding from EU Horizon Europe research and innovation program under Grant Agreement no. 101095863.
