ELKON will focus on the electrical safety aspects of battery integration onboard. By applying Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), ELKON will identify and analysed potential thermal runaway scenarios and their implications for vessel environments. The activity will aim to ensure that the simulation framework reflects realistic onboard electrical integration risks. Furthermore, ELKON will align the results with safety requirements and contribute to defining effective fire prevention, suppression, and system-level protective measures for large-capacity battery installations on vessels.
