FLEXSHIP focuses on the conceptual design of a large-capacity battery system that is compatible with a wide range of vessels. The goal is to develop a battery system that can be retrofitted onto existing vessels and used in future battery-powered vessels, ranging from small to large ships. The design will address various challenges related to safety, including thermal runaway, as well as mechanical, electrical, and thermal interfaces.
