After concluding the preliminary BESS design report, the system’s modules are designed and optimized according to the overall goal of scalability from electric, thermal, and mechanical perspectives (KPIs defined in WP1). The module and pack architecture designs are targeted for optimization within the scope of this task, aligning results with the designs of the Thermal Management System (TMS), Battery Management System (BMS), and Fire-Fighting System under development.
BRING’s role in this task is to ensure that all project-level key requirements, certification needs, and critical constraints from both demonstration vessels are considered throughout the final design and manufacturing process. This will enable the team to deliver a single, final result that meets KPIs and desired outcomes, facilitating future market roll-out. The focus is on flexibility, modularity, and adaptable solutions that are easy to integrate into a wide range of vessel fleets from 2026 to 2030.
